The NARA NW Medical Director is responsible for providing direct patient care while demonstrating awareness and sensitivity to Native American & other underserved populations healthcare needs, as well supervising all medical services provided at the Indian Health Clinic and throughout the organization (agency has 140+ ee's total). Will provide direct supervision to all physicians, FNP’s, RN’s & the dietician, monitors the quality of all medical treatment provided, and assures medical services are in full compliance with standards, ethics and license requirements of the medical profession. Also responsible for overseeing the on-site laboratory and Physician Dispensing Pharmacy.
TO QUALIFY: Must be Board Certified in a related area of medicine, with a current unencumbered Oregon Medical License. Position requires a minimum of 2 years experience providing direct patient care and administrative supervision as well as the ability to work with people from various socio-economic and cultural backgrounds to explain and provide appropriate medical care. Must be able to work productively and collaboratively within a team environment. Experience working with the Native American/Alaska Native Community preferred.
