Job Summary:
Responsible for providing administrative and clinical leadership and direction for nursing practice with 24-hour accountability on a designated unit. Assures the delivery of comprehensive, safe, effective and appropriate nursing care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and National Standards of Care as identified by respective professional organization and the vision, mission, values, goals and scope of care and services of the organization. Our Professional Nurses practice the Art and Science of Caring as described by the Ten Caritas Processes in Jean Watson’s Theory of Human Caring: practice of loving-kindness, authentically present with faith and hope, sensitivity to self and others, trusting caring relationships, allowing expression of positive and negative feelings, creative problem-solving, relational teaching-learning, creating healing environments, assistance with basic needs, and allowing for mystery and miracles.
Knowledge & Skills Required:

Knowledge & Skills Required:
- A high level of analytical abilities and problem solving skills, paying close attention to detail to resolve complex patient care and administrative situations
- Ability to build teamwork and structure an environment of collaboration, recognizing staff and meritocracy
- Communication skills verbal and written to document, read, and interpret clinical information, policies, procedures, and to respond and relay information to a variety of clinical and non-clinical disciplines
- Interpersonal skills required to explain procedures and to care and comfort families and support staff
- Knowledge of budget process and responsibility, staff training, scheduling and evaluation and overall clinical unit management
- Knowledge of professional nursing care theory and procedures
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Nursing required
- Completion of an accredited program of professional nursing
- Minimum of three years experience as a Registered Nurse with preferably one year in the specialty area
- One year supervisory/management experience
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration Required:
Current BLS/Healthcare Provider
Current Florida license as a Registered Nurse
Physical Demands for Essential Functions of the Job:
Ability to assist with lifting, positioning and transporting patients of varying weights up to 500 lbs.
Ability to walk and stand more than eighty percent of work time
