LPN position assists physician in nurse procedures for the comfort and well being of patients. Position will develop and manage nursing care plans and instruct patients and families in proper treatment and care. Assist physician, patients, patient family members, peers, provider and insurers in accordance with applicable standards, policies, and procedures. 


Responsibilities

*Greet patients and prepare them for examination or procedure

*Interview patients; gather medical history information, record health history of patient

*Assist physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients

*Obtain vital signs, administer injections, complete lab and x-ray requests, update charts

*Administer prescribed medications as directed by physician

*Instruct patients on collection of any necessary samples and tests
*Instruct patients and family regarding medications, treatment and discharge instructions
*Arrange referrals, obtaining pre-authorization as directed by the provider

*Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments

*Screen calls within physician guidelines; notify patients of test results/future appointments
*Contact pharmacy to order prescriptions

Requirements

*Two years experience minimum as LPN
*Ability to provide quality patient care in accordance with applicable standards, policies, and procedures
*Ability to maintain the strictest patient confidentiality
*Ability to communicate effectively and keep a positive attitude with patients, peers, providers, employers, insurers, and family members
