Medical Receptionist- Preferred Primary Care Physicians is currently recruiting for a Medical Receptionist for a practice located near St. Clair Hospital. Position includes answering phones, scheduling patients, check-in, check-out, etc for a three physician practice. Ideal candidates will be experienced with computers and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Greet patients that arrive according to established guidelines.
- Check in patients, verify and update all information in electronic medical record; collect co-payments.
- Check out patients, scheduling necessary appointments according to established protocol.
- Maintain computer scheduling in accordance with office scheduling policies.
- Answer telephone, screen calls, take messages and provide information in accordance with established protocol.
- Collection of payments and proper cash reconciliation.
- Provide additional clerical support as needed.
- Screen visitors and respond to routine requests for information.
- Closeout procedure, gathering of encounter forms, processing daily activities of coding, batching, billing and hospital visits.
- Maintain patient reception area in neat and orderly manner.
- Perform a variety of computer functions in support of specific responsibilities.
- Attend required meetings.
- Participate in educational and professional development activities consistent with business needs.
- Maintain strictest confidentiality of medical/corporation information.
- Be knowledgeable and follow all HIPAA Regulations.
· Interacts with physicians and staff.
· Perform related work as required.
