Medical Records and Coding Clerk - Full time opportunity available for a qualified individual to be responsible for the medical records function. Position will be responsible for charge entry for all patients seen at either the hospital (inpatient and outpatient) and the primary clinic (outpatient), ensure correct diagnosis code (ICD-9 and/or CPT) for billing purposes, responds to all request for medical records, maintains all medical records. Qualified individual will have a high school diploma or GED; have two (2) years coding experience in a hospital dealing with both inpatients and outpatients; current certification in CPC or CCS; knowledge of medical records filing system and procedures; knowledge of billing procedures/insurance requirements helpful; experience in hospital billing and registration is desired; excellent communication skills (written and oral); experience with HealthLand software a plus.
