Medical Recruiter-Trainer - Los Angeles

About the Job

Kaplan Medical is seeking a medical education professional to recruit and train faculty for USMLE/COMLEX/NAPLEX/NBDE review programs.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and the ability to recruit top-quality faculty.  We are looking for a self-starter who can work with a high level of independence as well work within a team environment. 

Responsibilties will include:

  • Recruit MDs and PhDs to teach in our live and live on-line programs.
  • Write classified advertisements and recruit from the best sources so that we receive excellent applicants.
  • Screen out candidates and develop best practices in recruitment.
  • Work with Kaplan Centers throughout the United States to set-up live demo lectures and observations.
  • Critique faculty demos and provide constructive feedback to the faculty candidate.
  • Work with faculty mentors who will be guiding new faculty along in the teaching process.
  • Create a training program that will be used with all Med Live faculty staff.
  • Write training procedures, manuals, and scripts for videos, and produce training video.
  • Run conference calls and group training sessions for the faculty.
  • Coach new faculty on first day(s) of teaching and current faculty on presentations and teaching style.
  • Assist department by developing curriculum to support the department’s goals.
  • Stay knowledgeable of exam trends and develop best practices in training.
  • Manage training budget.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Requires a MD or a PhD in the basic sciences.  MD candidates need to have passed their USMLE exams (medical license not necessary). 
  • Teaching experience necessary.
  • Superior written and oral communications skills - clear, concise, creative and persuasive.
  • Ability to give criticism in a positive way and to listen to others.
  • Must be able to travel.
