Orthopaedic Specialty Group seeks two skilled, professional Medical Administrative Assistants / Surgical Coordinators to work in our busy Sports and Spine Centers.
At OSG, the Administrative Assistant performs secretarial / administrative duties which support the clinical and business operations of the medical practice, ensuring that services are provided in a professional, timely, & courteous manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Telephone
- Answer telephone in accordance with office protocol
- Triage phone calls to appropriate individuals or departments
- Take messages and route to appropriate individuasl or departments
- Retrieve and respond to voice mail messages in a timely manner
Scheduling & Schedule Management
- Schedule patient appointments as requested
- Schedule tests, surgeries, procedures and patient consultations
- Obtain pre-admission clearance/pre-certifications
- Schedule and coordinates meetings for assigned physicians
- Maintain a patient wait list (manual system)
- Maintain, monitor and manage physician’s office, hospital/surgical and vacation schedules
Records Management
- Prepare correspondence (memos, reports, letters etc.) as directed by physicians and administration
- Mail or fax requests for information
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- File all correspondence and records
- Maintains the physician’s professional file (medical license, DEA, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Two years of post-secondary training or three years experience as an administrative assistant or surgical coordinator with experience in a medical office setting using medical terminology is preferred
- Computer skills: IDX, Microsoft Outlook
