The MT/CLS or MLT/CLT recognizes appropriate and inappropriate selection of lab tests and correlates lab results to patients' clinical conditions.  Possesses scientific knowledge to evaluate quality control, instrument, and result data.  This is a multi-tasking position that requires performance of pre-analytic, analytic, and post analytic phases of laboratory testing procedures from waived to moderate and high complexity testing; face to face and telephone customer service; computer data entry and retrieval, workplace cleanliness and maintenance. Includes responsibility for documentation of all activities, monitoring supplies, and compliance with all regulatory protocols related to safety and lab testing.


Experience Requirements
Minimum: 1 year Previous lab science experience as a Medical Lab Technician/Technologist/Specialist (MLT)  Preferred: Other Experience Previous experience as a Medical Lab Technician/Technologist (MLT) in a clinic setting.
Knowledge Requirements
Minimum: Basic or limited Computer skills; communication, customer service and problem-solving skills.  
Education Requirements
Minimum: Some College Completion of a lab technology program.  Preferred: Bachelors Degree Bachelor degree in medical technology
Certification Requirements
Minimum: Required at time of hire Registration as a Medical Technologist (MT).  Preferred: Able to obtain shortly after hire ASCP registration.
