The Medical Technologist is responsible for performing all laboratory procedures, including quality control, specimen collection, processing, testing and reporting in a busy family practice.

Approximately 1,030 physicians and 353 clinic locations comprise the Novant Medical Group throughout North and South Carolina. Each physician and clinic provides medical care in local neighborhoods, communities and hospitals. Collectively, they also work together to improve the practice of medicine. For instance, they are implementing an electronic medical record in all locations over the next two years, which will provide remarkable improvements in how physicians, staff and patients interact. The Novant Medical Group clinics are concentrated in the following four main geographic areas:

Novant Medical Group in Brunswick and New Hanover counties, with physicians, 22 midlevel providers and 34 clinic locations.

Novant Medical Group in the Winston-Salem and Triad region, with 288 physicians, 149 mid-level providers and 71 locations.

Presbyterian Novant Medical Group in the Charlotte and surrounding region, with 657 physicians, 154 mid-level providers and 234 clinic locations.

Novant Medical Group in the Triangle region, with 40 physicians, 7 mid-level providers and 14 locations.

Requirements

·          High school graduate or equivalent.

·          A minimum of two years college coursework with a background in chemistry, biology or microbiology.

·          Must be certified as a Medical Lab Technician or Medical Technologist or have successfully completed an accredited Medical Lab Tech program and awaiting certification and/or testing.

·          Six months experience as a lab tech preferred.

·          Knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing to perform quality control checks and troubleshooting of instrumentation. 

·          Physician office experience preferred.

Candidates who are registered Medical Lab Technicians will be considered.
