Pathology Medical Transcriptionist

Summary

We are currently seeking a medical transcriptionist for onsite work.  This position requires transcription and delivery of gross descriptions on pathology cases comprised of moderately difficult medical terminology.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Transcribing pathology reports from recorded dictation.


• Ensuring correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.


• Some general office assistance.


• Internet research.


• Filing, etc. 

Qualifications

• Excellent medical terminology.


• Typing (65+ wpm) and editing skills. 


• Must have knowledge of MS Windows, Word (including macros), internet search, as well as transcription software and equipment. 


• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. 


• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including good writing and proofreading capabilities. 

Education and/or Experience

• Requires at least 2-3 years of medical transcription experience.


• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent, Associate’s Degree preferred.
