Medical UR Manager -- mgmt role in start-up environment, build your own team

This position offers you a management role in a "start-up" environment where you will have the opportunity to build and train your own team.
As our Medical UR Manager, you will oversee all aspects of retrospective review, including recruiting, training and supervising a team of 17. Once formed, this new team will conduct inpatient and outpatient hospital reviews, inpatient rehabilitation reviews, concurrent reviews and conversion review for Massachusetts' Medicaid program. If your current position requires evenings and weekends, you can look forward to a more regular schedule.
You will join Permedion, an HMS company, a highly successful company that has provided external medical peer reviews and independent health care review services for government agencies and large health care providers. Permedion is accredited by URAC in both Independent Review and Utilization Management. Since Permedion is a part of HMS, you will also be joining a much larger, opportunity-rich organization. HMS offers one of the broadest portfolios of service to help government-sponsored healthcare plans recover billions of dollars and save billions more through cost avoidance. While others are cutting back, HMS is growing: our 2008 revenues of $184 million were up more than 20% over 2007, and that rate of growth has persisted through the first half of 2009.
To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have a Massachusetts RN license and at least two years of management or supervisory experience. We're looking for a professional with a background in utilization management, ideally in medical review, as well as experience with customer service and provider relations.
