Medical Collections Specialist

Job Purpose:

Monitor and pursue delinquent accounts to help generate revenue by making payment arrangements.

Duties:

• Collects delinquent accounts and monitoring payments
• Follow up with patients when payment lapses occur
• Utilizes collection agencies
• Maintains Medicare bad-debt cost report
• Initiates claims against
• Secures outstanding balance payments for care of hospital employees
• Maintains work operations
• Maintains quality results by following standards
• Protects hospitals value by keeping collection information confidential
• Enhances billing and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
