This position is located at Catalyst360° in Charlotte, NC. Our Customer Contact Centers support Sales and Service Operations for AARP Health, providing premier healthcare products for people 50 years of age and older.
Catalyst360° is a business unit of The Hartford Personal Lines, which is part of The Hartford Worldwide Property-Casualty Operations.
WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION?
Medicare Sales Agents assist AARP members by selling health care products underwritten by multiple health insurance carriers. They handle phone calls received on an inbound line and also make outbound calls to potential customers. The objective of each call is to confirm receipt of information (outbound only), review product information, provide product solutions, gain commitment on sale, and hopefully enroll the customer.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- 2+ Years Sales Experience
- (Required) Valid North Carolina Accident & Health licensure with Medicare Supplement line of authority
- Excellent communication skills ~ must be able to quickly build rapport
- Strong understanding of health insurance or Medicare
- Knowledge of sales processes and selling techniques
- Ability to relay/interpret insurance/technical language into "layman's" terminology
- Strong listening and questioning skills
- Adaptable to frequently changing priorities
- Ability to maintain high level of motivation following unsuccessful calls
- Ability to learn and navigate multiple advanced telemarketing systems and technologies
- Ability to analyze, evaluate and make recommendations to AARP members based on their insurance needs
WHAT ELSE CAN WE TELL YOU?
This position is a telecommuter role. Telecommuting is a flexible work arrangement where the agent works from a remote site and is linked to the office via computer and telephone. Telecommuter eligibility requirements include: dedicated two-way high speed cable (minimum 7MBS) internet capability (DSL is not applicable), and a dedicated work space with ergonomically correct furniture. You will be required to incur the expenses for a desk, chair and power surge suppresser.
WHAT DOES THE COMPENSATION INCLUDE?
At the Hartford, our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay competitive base salaries and reward performance. The starting salary for this position is $13.46 per hour. In addition, you will be eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits program including Medical, Dental, Life and Disability Insurance, a 401K Plan, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan and more.
