The Virginia Retirement System's Education and Training Department is seeking an individual to supervise the employees of the Member Counseling Team of a large public pension system.  Responsibilities include:  interviewing, hiring, training, coaching and monitoring performance of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work to ensure the staff meets operational needs and agency/department standards; addressing complaints and resolving complex customer issues.    

Requires supervisory experience, preferably in a web-based integrated call center or customer contact center environment; considerable experience counseling and communicating employee benefits; highly skilled in analytical thinking and deductive reasoning with a high level of proficiency in business writing and customer service skills; ability to perform complex math calculations; advanced skill with Excel and Power Point.  Must be self-directed and work well in a collaborative team environment.    Prior experience working with pension benefits and some knowledge of defined benefit and/or defined contribution plans, retirement planning, retirement education and counseling experience strongly preferred; B.A. degree in business, public administration or liberal arts and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

One of the following certifications is strongly preferred:  CRC, CEBS, INFRE, PHR or other HR certification.
