Student Services Professional I, Academic Year (Mental Health Counselor)
Responsibilities:
Provide short-term counseling and crisis intervention to a small commuter campus with a highly diverse student population; participate in outreach projects; co-facilitate outreach activities, workshops, and groups; provide expertise to the university community regarding issues that affect the educational, developmental and psychological well being of students.
Qualifications:
An advanced degree (Ph.D., MFT) in counseling or psychology and California licensure is required. Knowledge of psychological and developmental issues of college populations and brief treatment modalities is also required. Experience in a college counseling center is preferred.
Salary:

Cal State San Bernardino operates a permanent branch campus in Palm Desert, where a unique public-private partnership has built facilities with funds raised from municipalities, corporations, foundations and individuals. The campus opened its first permanent structure, the Mary Stuart Rogers Gateway Building, in 2002. A second complex, the Indian Wells Center for Educational Excellence and the Indian Wells Theater, opened at the end of 2004. A third building, the Palm Desert Health Sciences Building, houses nursing and other allied health sciences programs and opened in 2008.
