Abraxas Youth & Family Services, a leader in the juvenile justice field, has openings for Mental Health Technicians at our Erie, PA facilities. Abraxas began in Marienville, Pennsylvania in 1973 with only one site and only 30 kids. Now, Abraxas Youth & Family Services extends to eight states serving 4,225 youth, adults and families at 29 different locations. The Erie programs provide an innovative array of treatment programs for delinquent and/or dependant youth, both male and female, in the mental health system and males with substance abuse issues. Evaluates clients' behavioral and emotional issues. Provides individual, family, and group counseling under the direction of a clinical supervisor as required and in accordance with client's individualized treatment plan. Conducts psycho educational assessments under the direction of a clinical supervisor. Makes observations and documents client treatment interventions, behavior, and progress. Provides direct supervision of clients and interacts therapeutically. Interprets treatment objectives for other treatment staff members and assists with providing integrated services. Participates in treatment team conferences regarding clients' behavior, diagnosis, and progress; participates in treatment planning conferences and aftercare planning for assigned clients. Develops and updates individualized client treatment plans. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Must be at least 21 years of age

BA/BS in human services related field and minimum six months related experience working with children and adolescents with mental health problems and their families including assessment and counseling experience.
Criminal clearances (Act 33 and 34 clearances, specific State and child clearances and if necessary FBI)
