Mentor Program Manager

About the Job

Develops and implements annual goals for the program that are consistent with client needs, referral agency needs, and the organization’s strategic plan.


Recruits, screen, trains and matches mentor with mentees. Monitors each mentor/mentee pair, providing ongoing supervision and coaching. Facilitates mentor/mentee support group with contract trainer, helps supervise monthly activities for mentor/mentee pairs, providing ongoing support. Acts as administrative contact for grant.  Networked with prospective mentee groups preferred. Self-starter and highly motivated required. The equivalent of a Bachelor’s Degree and three year’s experience working with the youth, and volunteers with a minimum of two years of administrative experience in operating programs for those populations or target populations with similar needs.  Salary mid $40’s. Flexible, task-based, depending on the needs of the program, but generally to include daytime and evening hours.


 


 


Community Family Life Services (CFLS) works to achieve its goals through a web of interconnected services in three major areas: Housing Services; Supportive Services; and Youth Development & Advocacy. Housing Services provides service-enriched transitional and permanent housing for families at several locations throughout Washington, DC. Specialized programs focus on persons living with HIV/AIDS, homeless families, families seeking reunification, and people with a dual diagnosis of mental illness and addiction, among others. The Emergency Community Services Program provides emergency food and clothing assistance; regularly delivered food and “telephone buddies” to homebound elderly citizens.  Employment & Job Training staff provides employment counseling, assistance in finding jobs, resume writing, interviewing, and job placement. We also offer referrals to training programs and other educational opportunities. CFLS’ Youth Development & Advocacy department provides after-school tutoring and advocacy as well as a summer camp for middle school aged children.
