Merchandise Administrator

Summary:
The role of the Merchandise Administrator is to provide support to Merchandise Managers and Assistant
Merchandise Managers in the buying process. They maintain accuracy in article creation, purchase orders, sales confirmations and act as a vendor liaison for the Merchandise Manager. Additionally, they are responsible for organizing/cataloging articles in sample room, as well as various clerical tasks associated with the specific shops) to which they are assigned.

Essential Responsibilities:

*Create articles in SAP via data entry. All article information entered should match information provided on purchase orders, quote and detail sheets, and sales confirmations provided by vendors.

*Inform Data Integrity department and work with them to update or correct any article information that is found to be incorrect in SAP.

*Maintain an organized system for all purchase orders and sales confirmations, which can be easily managed as well as understood by team.

*Maintain an organized system for all article samples via the specified process, based on product in the sample room. Maintain a current record of all samples, while organizing them for easy access in the sample room. Create and maintain accuracy of buy books.

*Responsible for the timely research and resolution of any issues from Logistics, Vendor Relations, Accounts payable, DC issues and hotline phone calls.

*Serve as mediator to vendor when purchase orders and sales confirmations do not match. Work with vendor to maintain positive relationship while serving Jo-Ann Stores? best business
interest. Create, update and maintain all vendor files.

*Work with other Merchandise Administrators to maintain continuity and organization across the Category Management Organization.

*Support Merchandise Manager (MM) and Assistant Merchandise Managers (AMM) through the following duties: At MM direction, or while out of the office, respond to emails and faxes. Attend
Category Management Team (CMT) or Marketing turn-in or proof meetings when requested by the AMM or MM.
Work on special projects with the MM and AMM.

Education Requirements:

Minimum: Associates degree preferably in Merchandising, Fashion Merchandising, business or related field. (Consideration will be given to equivalent retail work experience in lieu of degree.)

Preferred: Associates degree preferably in Merchandising, Fashion Merchandising, business or related field. (Consideration will be given to equivalent retail work experience in lieu of degree.)


Experience Requirements:

Minimum: 1-3 years retail working experience. General office experience with email, fax, phone and filing.

Preferred: Merchandising internship, experience with SAP, Jo-Ann Store experience.
