Function:



The Operations Support Manager (Mgr II, Engineering) provides long term knowledge and expertise to the operations divisions - both contractor and government in the form of mission support specialized functions. The Operations Support Manager is the responsible party for the liaison between designated operational positions and their internal and external customers and partners. This candidate is responsible for the supervision and leadership of select operational group/s.



Job Description:



- Will be responsible for managing a team of approximately 10 +/- staff, including performance evaluation, career development, etc.

- Form, Align, Maintain and Integrate Functional Teams across an enterprise organization

- Responsible for creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures, Job Qualification Standards and Certification Plans

- Evaluate projects, priorities and workload of personnel

- Planning, creating and maintaining specific software packages that facilitate the daily scheduled allocation of resources

- Provide assistance to technical specialists on the analysis of problems or in the development of operating procedures

- Populate and perform data entry updates to databases as required

- Prepare and generate technical and business reports as required

- Provide quick on-line technical assistance to senior operations personnel and customer shift workers.

- Provide daily interaction between engineering and operations and the customer to ensure optimal work strategies are collaborated, understood and adhered to

- This position is typically a traditional day schedule, but s/he must be willing to work non-traditional hours (shift work) to fill in for operational positions that operate on a 24 hours per day / 7 days per week, 12 hour shift schedule as required

- Position is a two year tour with multiple tours possible.

- Work location is at Harrogate, United Kingdom.

- POSITION IS CONTINGENT ON AWARD OF NEW BUSINESS



Basic Qualifications - Required Experience, Skills:

- Bachelors degree in applicable engineering subject, or equivalent work experience, plus eight or more years applicable work experience.

- Eight or more years of progressively more responsible experience in mission operations.

- Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills to include negotiating, liaison, networking and collaboration

- Experience developing Standard Operating Procedures

- Experience in a leadership role across Integrated Functional Teams in an enterprise organization

- Possess technical knowledge and ability to maintain awareness of the latest capabilities and trends across the community

- Ability to work independently to prioritize tasks, identify problems and propose solutions

- Ability to work time sensitive actions with minimal supervision

- Ability to perform at a high level in a diverse and virtual teaming environment

- Possess teaming abilities, attention to detail and a sustained performance record

While the standard schedule for this position is a day shift, s/he must be willing and able to work non-traditional hours (shift work) to fill in for operational positions that operate on a 24x7, 12 hour shift schedule as required. This includes working nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Must be able to distinguish the difference between colors on a computer monitor (specifically red, blue, white and green).

Individual and eligible dependents must have the ability to satisfy requirements for applicable visas

Requires US citizenship and active or current (active within the last five years) TS/SCI SSBI clearance.



Desired Experience, Skills, Knowledge:

Experience producing a Job Qualification Standard (JQS)

Experience designing a Job Certification plan

A current and active TS/SCI SSBI security clearance is a significant advantage.

Experience working in real-time decision making environment is preferred.

Typically prior military experience proves quite helpful.

Experience participating effectively in a highly collaborative team environment.
