Mgr Software Qual Assur

Pegasus QA Manager:

As a member of the Pegasus Software Quality team, SQA Manager will lead and monitor testing and quality improvements for a highly scalable web-based assessment and learning applications that integrate class content and assessment materials delivered from a variety of online sources.

Job Responsibilities:

' Reviews high-level and detailed requirements specifications.
' Designs test plans based upon functional and design specifications.
' Maintains and reviews software test plans, test data and test cases.
' Plans software test cycles, regression testing, records results and reports defects.
' Analyzes reported bugs and works with software developers, development and project managers to resolve bugs.
' Assesses code and test coverage before, during and after test cycles.
' Performs ongoing Risk Analysis and optimizes Test Strategy as a result.
' Analyzes automated testing reports and recommends corrective actions.
' Responsible for following SDLC and software testing processes, quality assurance methodology and best practices and techniques adopted by the Pegasus QA group.
' Suggests new testing implementation mechanisms and small enhancements to QA and the product.
' Responsible for determining test strategy for a single project
' Determines internal and external resource needs
' Tracks and reports test results in formal fashion.
' Effectively directs testing efforts of offshore QA resources, and work collaboratively with product and project management and SQE colleagues.
' Evaluate quality risk for product changes/fixes and propose test strategy to address risks.
' Design, development, maintenance of testing infrastructure
' Planning daily activities and reporting project quality status
' Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

Reporting to Alan Brennan, SQA Manager, Pegasus

Requirements:

5 years experience testing and maintaining web-based applications. Experience working in a heterogeneous software development and deployment environment including UNIX, Windows and Mac. Experience in using client-side technologies (Applet, ActiveX, JavaScript) Excellent knowledge and understanding of browser technologies (Web 1.0 and Web 2.0). Experience executing test automation scripts and analyzing test results. Excellent organizational, oral and written skills. Previous experience creating test strategies, and writing test plans and test cases. Ability to learn and understand the concepts of new software programs quickly. Must be able to work independently and under minimal supervision. Strong problem solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Highly motivated and passionate about Quality. Solid knowledge of development life cycle and QA processes.


Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of test automation tools (WinRunner, QuickTestPro, Silk, Rational Robot). Working knowledge of RDBMS (MS SQL preferred). Sound knowledge of Microsoft technologies. Strong familiarity with web production, design and content issues (HTML/DHTML/JavaScript/Flash) is highly desired, as is a strong understanding of relational databases and multi-tiered Web applications. Experience with integration projects is highly desired, particularly familiarity with Web Services, SOAP, and asynchronous messaging solutions. Experience with test automation helpful. Experience as a technical lead of several QA engineers.


Education:

BSEE, BSCS, or equivalent work experience
