Orion Group is currently seeking an experienced Microsoft .NET programmer/analyst to join our software development team on a contract to hire basis.  The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and have working experience with .NET programming and architecture.  Experience with the following is required:

• VB.NET and/or C#.NET programming languages;
• Development of web-based applications using ASP.NET or other technologies;
• Development of Microsoft Windows-based applications;
• A basic understanding of Microsoft IIS and web application architecture;
• SQL programming, performance and database design;
• The  Microsoft Visual Studio development environment;
• Familiarity with XML architecture, parsing and interfaces;

A solid understanding of all facets of the software development life cycle is important.  The ability to gather and/or interpret software specifications, recommend solutions and perform comprehensive debugging and testing is also very important.  Those candidates that have attained the appropriate Microsoft certifications will receive higher consideration.

Knowledge or experience with any of the following is a definite plus:

• The PHP programming language;
• HTML layout, JavaScript and CSS;
• Classic ASP – VB Script;
• Programming with and deployment of web services;
• Crystal reports;
• Visual FoxPro;
• StrataFrame;
• The SYSPRO ERP package;
• Enterprise level manufacturing or business software experience;
