RF Microwave Design Engineer
Description: Responsible for the design, development, construction, and project management support of Integrated Microwave Assemblies for military, communication, aerospace and related applications. Products include PIN diode switches, switched filter banks, integrated microwave assemblies, frequency translators, and microwave filters.
Functional Details:
•Coordinate design from customer concept through production release
oProvides technical support for new opportunities
oResponsible for on-time delivery of technical proposals
•Design and/or modify product design documentation
oReview customer documentation
oProvide technical recommendations for product realization
oDevelop product performance requirements
•Determine product configuration
oProvide technical advise
oInteract with supplier to determine best quality and cost effective pricing
oProvide technical leadership and documentation guidance
•Plan and schedules product development
oInteracts with customers, marketing and production for resource coordination
oAttends engineering meetings for customer product development deliverables
•Improve existing design for manufacturability
oReceive and incorporate recommended improvements for production
•Provide direct testing and bench analysis support
oPerform prototyping and development realization
oAnalyzes prototypes for performance evaluation
oProvides specification revision for customer performance verification
•Support product return troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
oPerform failure analysis and destructive analysis
•Serve as technical mentor and production support
oCreate new processes or solve existing process problems
oDocuments preferred production methods
oProvides operational traveler ticket sequence and test plans
•Develop and improve engineering based policies and procedures
Required Skills:
•Strong technical verbal and written communication essential for interaction with customer, suppliers, production support and technical engineers
•Familiar with microwave filter topologies including: cavity, lumped element, ceramics, suspended substrate, and thin film
•Genesys, SolidWorks, Sonnet, Allegro software experience preferred
•Project management skills to coordinate design to production development preferred
•Military security clearance preferred
