Energetics is accepting applications for a Mid-Level Homeland Security Analyst - Nuclear Sector (5112) to work in our Arlington, VA location. Job Description and Responsibilities The Nuclear Sector Homeland Security Analyst will provide technical and management support to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Office of Infrastructure Protection on programs relevant to nuclear sector assets and systems in the United States, primarily in security, preparedness, and resilience. The Nuclear Sector includes nuclear power plants, research and test reactors, and sealed radioactive sources used in medicine, industry, and education. Responsibilities include: - Supporting the development and maintenance of government-industry and interagency partnerships in the Nuclear Sector; - Assisting the client and other Energetics staff in the preparation of presentations, talking points, reports, other materials for the sector; - Attending meetings, conferences, and other relevant events with or on behalf of the client. - Assistance on technical, policy-oriented, or planning activities with regard to Nuclear Sector security, protection, and resilience; and - Developing strategic and tactical plans to support government activities. Qualifications Required Additional Skills/Abilities: Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, attention to detail, strong writing, analytical, and presentation skills, the ability to work effectively with diverse groups in a demanding environment, the ability to contribute to multiple, simultaneous tasks, and an ability to work in a fast-paced, professional environment. The ideal candidate will have a familiarity with the nuclear industry or health physics, as well as national homeland security policy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point, and Access) is required. Note: Candidate must be clearance eligible; an active SECRET clearance is desirable. Education/Experience: This position requires a bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience or a master’s degree in public policy, health physics, homeland security, or a similar field, with at least four years of experience. Prior direct experience in a nuclear/radiological field a plus.
