Mid/Sr Software Engineer

Position Description:  Trusted Computer Solutions has an opening for a highly talented Mid to Sr Software Engineer to be an integral part of the development of TCS Commercial software products for the Linux operating system.   TCS’s innovative products have received industry-wide recognition in their target market; this has in turn resulted in rapid growth for the company.  To capitalize on this momentum, we are expanding our product development team.  This individual will be responsible for developing security applications in Linux.  Preference will be given to candidates with strong software engineering background and familiarity with commercial security products.    Our software is developed in Java, C/C++ and Python.

Responsibilities:

·         Develop high level architectures and detailed design documentation to meet enterprise requirements for functionality, performance, reliability and security.

·         Develop Java,, C/C++ and/or Python code, and mentor efforts of other developers as needed.

·         Perform system engineering work as needed to integrate applications, perform functionality and performance testing, support customers and assist documentation and training efforts.

·         Work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team, including members of the software development, Marketing, QA, sales, product management and documentation teams

Minimum requirements:

·         Five years of experience designing and developing systems software on Unix.

·         Strong knowledge of operating systems, programming languages, networking and security as implemented in enterprise software products.

·         Strong knowledge of techniques for requirements management, design documentation, configuration management and testing.

·         Proven ability to work and coordinate with multiple groups, including GUI designers, documentation, marketing, other software developers and senior executives.

·         Dependable, motivated, self-starting team player.

Desired skills:

• Linux development, including SELinux.
• Experience with PyGTK and TurboGears
• PHP or Web Architecture Development Experience
• Experience with packaged software products

Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
