

Sales Representative needed to develop new customers for a specialized chemical services/distribution company. The individual will be assigned a territory that contains a large concentration of potential customers. The successful candidate will work from their home office and have ultimate responsibility for the success of the territory.
SCOPE
Responsible for closing sales within a specified geographic territory in accordance with strategy identified by marketing managers.
Responsible for identifying new product opportunities to management or providing market research for new products identified by product management.
Works from outside the main office with significant travel required mostly by car.
QUALIFICATION
Individual must be a self-starter who enjoys continuous development of new customers through cold calling. Strong selling skills including a demonstrated ability to close new sales are essential. In addition, the following are a must:
Ø Two years sales experience in industrial sales to direct users
Ø College degree (preferably technical)
Ø Proven history of territory development (new accounts)
Ø Mechanical aptitude
Ø Computer skills in Outlook/Excel/Word/Power point
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Responsible for communicating company’s direction, commitments, and policies to external customers.
Utilizing marketing management’s strategies as communicated by Sales management to develop sales plans and forecasts for company’s products within a defined territory and successfully achieving those sales goals.
Identifies customer requirements and works to satisfy those needs. Communicates this information to appropriate office personnel.
Selects appropriate customers or prospects for joint calls with management.
Responds to changes in customer situations and market conditions for the benefit of the company.
Makes recommendations for marketing and sales strategies within the assigned territory.
Documents price changes to appropriate BCS personnel and external customers.
Ensures prospects and customers are properly qualified, including their safety and environmental performance and financial worthiness. Identifies those customers having problems in these areas for further review by the appropriate personnel.
Responsible for maintaining existing relationships with customers, while promoting and growing our commercial position.
In-depth, multiple contact, selling with customers. Develop relationships with multiple contacts in various departments including: purchasing; operations; credit; and transportation.
Identification of new prospects and development of new business opportunities.
Develop an understanding of the full range of BCS products and services and promote them to customers and prospects.
Responsible to understand and stay current on competitor's actions within their geographic territory.
Provides a monthly recap of activities within territory.
Writes call reports on an “as needed” basis.
Operates in support of the company’s quality system and embraces Process Excellence initiatives.
