A Physician Assistant is needed for a fulltime, permanent Cardiothoracic opportunity approximately 75 minutes northwest of Minnesota's Twin Cities.  Enjoy working at a state-of-the-art Heart Center and working with a leading cardiothoracic surgeon to deliver top notch patient care.  Qualified providers will assess, plan, evaluate, implement, and coordinate care of cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical patients.  Duties include performing histories and physicals, ordering labs and x-rays, caring for patients from pre-op evaluation to post-surgical discharge, and hospital rounding.  Surgical first assist responsibilities include vein harvesting, closure, and robotic surgery assist.  The Physician Assistant should also be comfortable placing IVs and removing chest tubes and pacing wires.  Providers with additional elective rotations in CT surgery or previous experience in a heart center are welcome to apply, and direct surgical first assist experience in a relative setting makes for a real plus.  This is a 24/7 facility.  Typical hours are Monday through Friday from 8 AM until 5 PM, with call every third weekend during daytime hours.  This group is looking for a compassionate provider that promotes family involvement in care decisions, patient education, and the desire to partake in research activities.  This is a stable, motivated group looking for someone energetic to grow with their practice and make a difference in patients’ lives.  Salary ranges from 86 to 96K++ depending on experience, with full comprehensive benefits, and additional relocation assistance.
