Modeling & Simulation Software Engineer


Summary

Join a winning software development and advanced technology research team. CHI Systems, Inc. is expanding its Fort Washington, PA development team with a Modeling & Simulation Software Engineer. We are currently seeking a motivated, team oriented, and creative candidate who can excel in a small business/defense contracting environment.


Responsibilities of the Position

CHI Systems is seeking a motivated and passionate scientist/engineer with the technical vision required to translate advanced modeling and simulation concepts into operational reality. The ideal candidate will combine the skills to model cognitive, behavioral, cultural, and tactical dynamics, with those needed to bring software applications through the design and implementation process. The successful applicant will function as a key technical member of an interdisciplinary team in a dynamic development environment, providing leadership across the full R&D cycle. Position responsibilities will include concept formulation, proposal writing, algorithm design, software implementation and integration, client interaction, and research publication.


Skills, Education and Experience

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or M.S. in Computer Science plus minimum 5 years experience

• Hands-on experience with one or more advanced modeling approaches, transforming theory into real world solutions

• Strong software development skills including systems integration, network programming, AI programming, and virtual environments

• Experience with military simulations such as JSAF/OneSAF/ModSAF, as well as government-preferred environments such as DIS and HLA

• Strong mathematical background and experience with the implementation of complex algorithms

• Experience with basic software/data design methods and modeling standards

• Project management, business development, and technical writing skills

• U.S. citizenship
