Momentum Technical Analyst
CGI Federal is seeking numerous Technical Analysts to support a new, high profile Federal engagement in Austin, TX in which we will implement and customize our Momentum product as the new ERP solution over the span of multiple years.
The Analyst will assist with the configuration and design of financial systems, and will work on the Technical implementation team for the Momentum suite. Work will include a self assignment of issues (mainly related to J2EE, Java, and XML portions of the suite, but could also include work with C++, webMethods, and BIRT), researching and debugging issues, testing solutions, and working with managers to draft and prepare responses to implementation teams. The Technical Analyst will also work with implementation teams through the completion of support requests. Solutions to be researched and tested may include configuration changes, defect fix backpatching, or custom development. Work may also include technical documentation creation/modification, meeting/working group facilitation, and presentation of team brown bags or workshops.
The Technical Analyst will also assist with development of fixes for the Momentum product for various system modifications to the baseline product. This work includes performing technical analysis to determine changes needed to the Momentum product based on assigned defect(s), development and unit testing of fix, and review with team lead and architect.
Essential Skills: Strong analytical skills (including OO analysis and design), J2EE/Java and XML development or C++ development (or strong knowledge of), strong written and oral communication skills, and the ablity to work in a team environment and interface directly with the client at all levels. Must be flexible in terms of travel, as periodic travel to other client sites within the US may be required in this role.
Non-essential Skills: Microsoft Office, Rational ClearCase, Rational ClearQuest, Rational Rose and BEA Weblogic. Knowledge of the Momentum suite.
Please note that Momentum-specific experience is preferred, although candidates with comparable ERP implementation experience (SAP, Oracle Financials, PeopleSoft Financials, etc.) will be strongly considered. We are seeking a number of strong technical candidates to support this engagement, and will provide the necessary Momentum training to all individuals selected.
