Mortgage Loan Consultant
About the Job
Provides exceptional service to members in all aspects of the mortgage application process including processing, loan decisions, closing, post closing, and servicing. Identifies and suggests financial services that would improve our members’ lives. Maintains proper documentation and records for mortgage files, and reviews the completeness and accuracy of the application package. Provides prompt, professional and courteous support and assistance to internal departments, retail branches and members.
• Must have working knowledge of the mortgage process. Understands and can effectively apply mortgage lending policies to all mortgage lending situations.
• Supports the mortgage department by accepting and processing loan applications from members, making loan decisions, accepting incoming phone calls, scheduling and closing loans, including all credit union equity products.
• Assists loan personnel as needed on mortgage closing papers. Supports and assists all employees and branches regarding mortgage policies and procedures. Packages mortgage files. Follows-up on all closed loans to ensure proper documentation of each file and adherence to lending policies and federal regulations.
• Implements loan services in accordance with management’s direction.
• Promptly prepares and mails Deed of Trusts and Lien Releases to the courthouse for recording purposes.
• Responsible for prompt updates to the mortgage pipelines and any other mortgage records or reports as instructed.
• Assists members and internal staff with research and problems on members’ accounts and follows up as necessary with adjustments and/or corrections.
