Description

We are currently seeking a Vice President Mortgage Operations Risk and Compliance Manager reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of our Residential Lending Division.  The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of Mortgage Operations: Including Underwriting, Processing, Closing, Post Closing, Quality Control as well as developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure effective processes and efficiencies.

As part of the management team, the jobholder will work closely with the managers of the Mortgage Origination, Home Equity, Secondary and Servicing areas to optimize standards, policies and procedures. Job holder wll be responsible for annual department budgeting and various monthly and quarterly reports. Will act as backup to Systems Administrator for LOS and will work closely with Training and Compliance Officer to assure federal, state and RTC compliance standards are met and maintained.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Regulatory “change” monitoring (reviews updates and implements changes)
    • HVCC, HPML, Reg. Z, RESPA, Etc.
    • Ensures loan packages/form packs are compliant (State & Federal)
    • Wolf Pac
    • Management reporting and communication

 

  • Audit/Compliance
    • Manages & implements corrective action
    • Responds to all findings, including SCA Associates Audits
    • Oversees closure of loans in Declined/Withdrawn/Cancelled status
    • Sarbanes Oxley – review and reporting
    • Business Monitoring – executes appropriate corrective action
    • GLBA monitoring
    • Management reporting and communication

  • Vendor Management
    • Appraisers

  • Building and developing operations organization, processes and procedures to support strategic direction.
  • Leading and developing operations leadership team to ensure operations strategies are carried out and to ensure production levels are met and are in compliance.
  • Engaging in strategic initiatives to grow the business and streamline operations to optimize efficiencies

Other Duties as assigned:

  •  
    • Interacts & instructs New Loan Set-up Staff on regulatory changes
    • Monitors and reports on Portfolio Exceptions
    • Works with HR to develop an On-boarding Process to include Compliance Training
    • Management reporting and communication


Required Experience

The position requires experience in risk and compliance, processing, underwriting, and closing. Strong problem analysis and resolution at both a strategic and functional leel. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Must be a self-starter, detail orientated and have proficient computer skill (PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.), DU/LP and FHA experience required. Prior management experience is required.
