Position: Mortgage Underwriter
Job Description:
Review, analyze, approve and underwrite consumer requests and products within company and industry guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Review financial statements, credit reports and applicable ratios (loan-to-value, Debt ratios).
- Evaluate, examine transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare formal reports for review.
- Ensure documents uphold company and industry guidelines.
- Perform compliance reviews.
- Assist with re-negotiations of loans based on lending guidelines.
- Work in a team environment, train lower level team members and provide performance feedback to supervisors.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years experience underwriting loans
- Excellent customer service skills
- FHA underwriting a plus
- Experience auditing loans for errors
- Strong organizational and decision making skills
- Willing to work overtime if needed
