Motor and Drive Applications Engineer for Industrial Technologies business with responsibility for motor and drive specifications, performance test, and development. The candidate will work with development teams across the product life cycle; technology development, product development, and sustaining engineering to optimize the matching of motor and drive technology to specific machine requirements.
The candidate will take the lead in resolving field issues and will have year over year reliability improvement goals.
Work with sourcing, vendors and third party test centers to harmonize requirements and yield continuous material productivity and quality improvement.
Partner with universities and industry consultants to evaluate emerging technologies and accelerate application to solving machine performance and customer drivers.
Engage with dedicated product development teams to benchmark, specify, validate and optimize motor and variable speed drive technology to meet performance requirements of new product.
Support regional teams to ensure motors and drives meet global electrical requirements.

Experience with selection and use of Electrical Motors and Drives for Industrial Applications.
Familiar with electric motor design and performance criteria for various AC machines such as induction, synchronous, permanent magnet, and variable reluctance machines.
Familiar with application of variable speed drive technology, PID loop tuning, performance optimization, machine protection.
Practical knowledge of motor and drive test procedures.
Familiar with global industrial and commercial standards related to electric machines (NEMA MG1, IEC, EN) and new standards and regulatory requirements related to energy efficiency.
