Job Description:



The Multi-Disciplined Engineer II - Operations Level-II (Near Real-time Operations) will provide support for regression testing of new upgrades and software patches. Monitor and control data flow on a research and development (R&D) multi-host data processing system.



Configure the data processing system's automatic detection algorithm to optimize tasking.



Provide real-time operational response to system alerts and changes in the system environment including system reconfiguration, data analysis, and data reporting.



Advise and assist in effecting design changes to improve operational efficiency and/or reduce cost of operations.



Document and maintain operational event logs and records.

Utilize technical training and/or equivalent technical experience to evaluate system performance and enhance system operation and data processing capabilities.



Perform and document preliminary evaluation of system problems.



Monitor data acquisition status. Initiate data storage. Troubleshoot and document problems.



Must maintain operational certifications in accordance with CHB policy.



Will require certification in multiple positions.



Will work in an open environment where frequent and direct interaction and collaboration with customers and peers is ordinary



This position requires working a variety of fluctuating schedules - 12 hours on/12 hours off, rotating four days on/four days off; 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and/or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts, rotating through days, nights, weekends, and holidays.



Basic Qualifications - Required Experience, Skills:



Requires a bachelor's degree in a related engineering subject, or equivalent related experience, plus a minimum of two years of applicable work experience.



Requires two or more years of experience performing satellite mission support in a near real-time operations environment.



Requires two or more years of experience performing satellite operations support.



Requires one or more years of near real-time operational experience.



Must be able to distinguish the difference between colors on a computer monitor (specifically red, blue, white, and green).



Requires willingness and availability to work a variety of fluctuating schedules - 12 hours on/12 hours off, rotating four days on/four days off; 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and/or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts, rotating through days, nights, weekends, and holidays.



U.S. citizenship is required



Requires an active or current (active within the last five years) TS/SCI SSBI security clearance.



Requires ability to satisfy requirements for a TS/SCI SSBI security clearance.



Desired Experience, Skills, Knowledge:



A current and active TS/SCI SSBI security clearance is a significant advantage.



Experience in the CHB operational environment.



Experience working directly with customers. Demonstrated ability to perform successfully in an open environment where frequent and direct interaction and collaboration with customers and peers is ordinary.



Experience working in a near real-time decision-making environment.

Requires excellent communication and team building skills.



Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure.
