JK Design (http://www.jkdesign.com), is a full service marketing agency with a 25+ year history. NJBiz has ranked us as one of their Top 50 New Jersey Internet Technology Firms annually since 2003! Our office is located in a relaxed environment located next to a pond in central New Jersey (Hillsborough). Most of our clients are also in central NJ. You would be required to work on-site at our offices, and on occasion meet with our clients at their locations in the tri-state area.
Our Interactive team creates small to large Web sites and interactive applications including custom content management systems. We also create video productions that include videotaped and animated segments.
You would report to the Director of Interactive but receive your direction from our Interactive Art Director.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Read project requirements documents consisting of either a simple Creative Brief or Functional Specifications including a site map/system flow, wire frames and user requirements.
- Meet with project manager and Sr. interface designers, to fully understand the project goals.
- Implement/code Flash animation used for Web sites, interactive devices, online games, CD/DVD interfaces and Email Marketing.
- Occassionally help create Web site sub-pages, based on existing interface designs.
- Static designs are created with Photoshop and Interactive designs are created with Adobe Flash (using ActionScript 3).
- Must be able to listen well, take and understand artistic direction from senior designers, and implement as instructed.
- Be a self starter, have high standards, be able to work independently and on a team to meet deadlines, even if requiring extended work hours.
Experience Required:
- Have good visual design skills with the ability to create Flash animation for Web and Interactive applications (based on design concepts from Sr. Interface designer).
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop CS3+, Adobe Flash/ActionScript 3, Adobe Flex and an understanding of basic XHTML and CSS.
- Be comfortable using a Macintosh as your workstation operating system.
Strong Plusses:
- Experience creating Flash applications that retrieve data using a server side language such as PHP and/or parse XML with Flash.
- Understand how to build Flash Video Players and how to create and optimize FLV files for streaming via progressive download.
- Knowledge of Adobe Air.
- Adobe Flash Certification.
Other Plusses (but not required):
- Knowledge of PHP and MySQL coding.
- Video Editing Skills (Avid system or Apple Final Cut Pro).
