If so, Gomez and Sullivan Engineers would like to hear from you.  We are a small, growing water resources consulting firm with a national reputation for excellence.  We are seeking a motivated individual committed to continuing this tradition.  Our company has immediate openings for a Senior Civil Engineer and a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer with experience in civil and/or hydraulic structures (dams, hydropower plants, fish passage, flood control) and geotechnical solutions at either our Utica, NY, or Henniker*, NH office.  Both locations offer reasonable costs of living, a variety of restaurants and shops, excellent schools and colleges, as well as great recreational opportunities nearby—in Utica, the Adirondacks or Finger Lakes, and in Henniker, the White Mountains or the ocean.

Hydrology and hydraulics are key elements of our nation’s renewable energy sector.  Design and rehabilitation of hydropower plants and dams, permitting and FERC license compliance, design of storm drainage facilities, shoreline erosion control evaluations, and design of habitat improvement projects are just a few of the exciting civil engineering services we provide.  Our company is seeking a committed, detail-oriented individual who will be able to utilize their knowledge, experience, and current software technologies for our clients’ immediate and future projects. 

Responsibilities

· Development and review of construction sequencing, design plans and specifications, and permit applications

· Application of regulatory processes including federal, state, and local permitting requirements for projects involving dams, streams, stormwater, hydropower plants, and wetlands 

· Project management

· Leading of technical discussions with regulators and clients as well as public meetings

· Marketing of professional services, proposal writing, cost estimating, and project scheduling

· Technical writing for project documents, as well as review of junior engineers’ technical writing

· Technical guidance and mentoring for junior engineers in their project work and development

Qualifications

Both Positions

· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (MS preferred)

· Registered as a Professional Engineer

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Project management experience

· Proficiency with MS Office software

· 7 to 20 years of experience preferred

Senior Civil Engineer

· Strong technical background and experience with:

     - Evaluation and design of civil projects

     - Design software such as AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil

· Experience with design of roads, earthwork projects, dredging, storm drainage, and/or flood control desired

· Experience with hydraulics, hydrology, natural channel design, fish passage, civil structures, geotechnical analysis/design, survey and bathymetry, GIS and/or natural sciences a plus

Senior Civil/Structural Engineer 

· Strong technical background and experience with:

     - Evaluation and design of hydraulic structures

     - Design/analysis software such as AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, etc.

· Experience with dam safety, hydropower, flood control, and/or fish passage desired

· Experience with geotechnical analysis/design, hydraulics, hydrology, sedimentation, natural channel design, survey and bathymetry, GIS, and/or natural sciences a plus
