Municipal Finance Director/Town Accountant

About the Job

The Town of Hanover is seeking a highly qualified team-oriented individual for the position of Director of Municipal Finance/Town Accountant in this well managed community with a bond rating of Aa3.  Position is a cabinet-level position responsible for overseeing the Department of Municipal Finance as provided for under Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 43C, Section 11 (accountant, treasurer, collector and assessors) and maintaining the operation of the Town accounting systems involving classification and recording of income and expenditures for all departments, trust funds and debt activities.  Also responsible for preparing annual, state and Federal Reserve Sharing reports with analyses; and all other reports required by law; and acts as primary support staff for the Advisory and Capital Budget Committees and Trust Fund Commissioners.  Applicants should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and five years related experience and/or training in a municipal setting.  Position requires a comprehensive knowledge of all applicable provisions of the M.G.L.’s, GAAP, UMAS and GASB regulations and extensive computer knowledge.  Salary range is $90.000 - $105,000.  Submit resume and cover letter to Personnel Administrator, 550 Hanover St., S-23, Hanover, MA 02339 or e-mail to personnel@hanover-ma.gov .  Position will remain open until filled.  Apply now.  AA/EOE.
