NDT Technician Senior - ATK

(Non-Destructive Test)

ATK has an excellent opportunity for an NDT (Non-Destructive Test) Level 3 Technician at our Manufacturing Center of Excellence, near Cumberland, MD.  This is a premier ATK location with extreme corporate visibility.  It is dedicated to the manufacture of defense and defense related products including rocket motors, warheads, gas generators, ceramic composites for aircraft components and launch tubes, metals and munitions as well as electronics, integration and test of electronic fuzes and sensors.  Our manufacturing capabilities encompass motor and warhead loading, static and air-breathing testing, fiber placement, filament winding, hand lay-up, compression molding, high rate machining, flow forming, welding, assembly, and integration and test.

Responsibilities

• Support a wide variety of NDT activies including Ultrasonic inspection (UT), Eddy Current inspection (ET), and Liquid Penetrant inspection (PT) using manual and automated techniques.
  
• Interpret NDT data to determine acceptability of parts in accordance with applicable specifications.
  
• Handle and move parts and components as required to perform NDT inspections and document inspection results.
  
• Support and provide expertise during new product bidding.

Requirements

• Documented hours as an NDT Level 3 UT, Level 3 ET, and Level 3 PT (or highly experienced Level 2 PT) to include experience with establishing techniques and procedures; interpreting codes, standards, and specifications; and designating the particular nondestructive testing methods, techniques, and procedures to be used .
  
• Experience with training and testing Level 1 and Level 2 technicians.
  
• Experience with NAS 410 requirements.
  
• Experience with specification and drawing interpretations.
  
• Intermediate PC skills including knowledge of MS Office products.
  
• Familiarity with basic dimensional inspection equipment, micrometers, etc. 
  
• Ability to obtain and retain a Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite.

Desirable

• Background in NDT of Aerospace products.
  
• ASNT Level III certification(s)
  
• Radiographic (RT), Magnetic Particle (MT), or other method of inspection a plus.
