Modis is currently seeking a .NET Developer for a 7-8 month contract position located in Washington, DC.
*Candidates must be US Citizens or Green Card/EAD Holders and able to obtain a public trust clearance*
The primary Senior .NET Developer function will be to help plan, design, develop, test, debug, and deploy highly-available applications using the .NET Framework 2.0/3.x and SQL Server technologies. An ideal candidate will be an extremely proficient .NET developer with experience in porting and converting legacy and classic ASP applications into .NET environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide a senior-level contribution to a team responsible for the design, development and implementation of critical business applications using the .NET Framework 2.0/3.x and SQL Server technologies
* Work with agile software lifecycle methodologies. Participate in porting legacy applications. Perform coding, debugging and testing.
* Define the integration between proposed development projects and existing systems, software and hardware
* Review documents, perform code review, and unit testing
* Work in a collaborative development environment, providing assistance & technical guidance to less experienced team members
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
* 5+ years development experience with the Microsoft .NET platform, including C#, VB.NET, ADO.NET, and ASP.NET
* 5+ years experience with object oriented programming, including strong working knowledge and experience with UML and design patterns
* Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with Microsoft SQL Server
* Systems integration experience with web services and .NET Remoting
* Experience in Classic ASP and migrating applications to .NET platform.
* Exposure to all aspects of the software development lifecycle
