.NET Engineer (Web, C#) - Contingent Staff
About the Job
The Corporations of the President and the Presiding Bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints support the Church and its missions. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a world-wide religion with over 13 million members.
**This is a Contingent Staff (Contract) position. We expect the length of this assignment to be not more than 12 months**
We are hiring a .NET Software Engineer to write server-side code for web-based applications, for both internal and external use. We are looking for well-rounded developers who know how to create robust high-volume production applications. These projects will be vital to moving the work of the Church forward.
The Church Information and Communication Systems department (ICS) has established a core set of technologies. This position will utilize the following technologies (but not limited to):
· C#
· ASP.NET
· Ajax
· CSS
Ultimately, the success of the individual engineer is directly tied to the success of the engineering team. We need people that can focus on delivering high-quality solutions, quickly.
Requirements:
- Must be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, currently temple worthy.
- Exposure to a broad range of current Microsoft technologies, and able to contribute meaningfully to technology and product decisions.
- Worked as a Engineer through the first and subsequent releases of at least (2+) successful products, and at least one of which must be a large-scale enterprise application
- Able to comfortably apply and recognize design patterns in determining algorithms, design constructs and in making architectural decisions
- Proven ability to estimate the time to develop software features and then to deliver on that estimate
- BS/MS/PhD in CS or equivalent.
- Strong C# skills and object oriented design experience.
- Experience in database design and SQL.
- Experience in SharePoint workflow and document management are a plus.
- Knowledge of session management, object relational mapping, XML web services, and agile development methodologies desired.
- Must be willing to work in Downtown Salt Lake City until the deparment moves offices to Riverton, UT during 2009.
