NETWORK PROJECT COORDINATOR

NETWORK PROJECT COORDINATOR NEEDED IN RICHMOND, VA 

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

Ensures consistent delivery of Enterprise Technology Organization services to their assigned projects.  The Project Coordinator/Manager selected will own the relationship with the project team and is the primary point of contact between the project teams and client resources.  These positions are part of a very large effort under the division to revamp the enterprise IT infrastructure across all LOB. 

Requirements:

·         They are looking for candidates that have come from a technical background but have moved into a team lead, supervisor, or PM role.  Background should include experience with Networking, Wintel, and any flavor of Unix

·         Not looking for purely a PM or a Systems Administrator that wants a hands on position

·         This role will NOT be hands on and this role will NOT have system access: they will not have access to the systems and boxes to perform duties

·         Cross over between PM and Infrastructure; NOT someone that has a purely application background but needs infrastructure experience

·         Looking for candidates that have either a very strong networking background or a very strong server background and they need both types along with some Unix as a big plus

·         Must have experience leading a team and portray thought leadership

·         Ideal resume would read as someone who started as a Sys Admin/Network Admin and most recently moved into a role where they have been managing infrastructure projects.  Ex: someone who has been a Sys Admin and started to do PM work for LAN/WAN, WINDOWS projects

Responsibilities:

·       This role will direct the technical team: talk to technical folks and listen to the customer; provide solutions

·      Will be devising amd maintaining workable technical project plans to accomplish the business efforts

·       Strong negotiation skills. 
·      Ability to leverage and make optimal use of both internal and external resources 
·      Ability to manage competing and fluctuating business priorities 
·      Ability to perform cost/benefit/risk assessments and analysis 
·     Strong Written and Verbal Communications Skills 
·     Strong consultation and customer interaction skills 
·      Financial background to include forecast creation, budgeting and procurement of assets/services. 
·      Experience in Vendor management / interaction 
·      Proven experience leading IT infrastructure  projects (typically 5 - 7 years) 
·      Local candidates HIGHLY preferred 
·      Infrequent Travel required
·      Customer tells the SE what they want the infrastructure to do and SE goes out to get engineer, administrators, resources, etc. to do the work
