Export Compliance Manager

Location: Long Island, NY

Reports to: VP of Legal

About Company: Publically traded, high tech, solid and growing company. Average length of employment is 12-15yrs+. Excellent medical and other benefits. Generous relocation provided.

Job Summary:

Immediate opening for an Export Compliance Manager, responsible for implementing and administration the company’s export compliance program.  The “go to” subject matter expert!

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file licenses with BIS and DDTC, including TAAs.  Conduct regular audits of export and import documents to ensure compliance.
• Update and provide annual company-wide trade compliance training and interim focused training.
• Make available direction to business teams on licensing and documentation requirements for all imports and exports, including identification of ECCN, HTS, license exceptions, and meeting 10+2 requirements.
• Hands-on person that will run the program from A-Z.
• (95% Exports/5%Imports)

Skills/Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree with minimum 5-7 years work experience in EAR and ITAR compliance.
• Thorough knowledge of ITAR and EAR required.
• Knowledge of Imports (dealing with Freight Forwarders) and the 10+2 ruling.
• Experience with filing TAA licenses.
• EAR experience with EAR99 or 5A991 classification
• Knowledge of how to navigate the differences between commercial equipment sold to a military customer and commercial equipment modified for a military use.
