A leading worldwide media company is looking for an experienced National Sales Director.


 


JOB SUMMARY:


 


Manages the sales team to drive our  trade show growth in key segments, and transition our publishing model into an emedia based multi platform advertising revenue model. Works with marketing & product Management to identify emerging segments and develop product features to capitalize on these growth segments. Manages the sales team to achieving all sales goals; measures, monitors and reports on key performance metrics and drives productivity. Motivates and trains the sales team to drive revenue. Works with sales support team and marketing to deliver a consistent stream of new leads weekly to the sale force.  Works with marketing to implement sales programs and initiatives to improve sales process and performance.


 


Responsibilities:


1.   Ensures that sales team is selling booth space, advertising or programs/sponsorships which satisfy the predetermined needs of clients using a consultative, solutions-oriented selling style; hires, trains, supervises and monitors sales staff performance.


2.   Identifies, assesses and cultivates customer prospects to build a prospective client list for completing sales calls; develops a thorough understanding of the assigned markets and product channels, as well as the manufacturers, users, and competitors in those markets.


3.   Work with the Sales Managers to provide weekly forecasts and manage revenue, expense, and inventory reporting and budgets; meets or exceeds forecasted revenues for all booth, emedia, print & sponsorship revenues.


4.   Manage territories, account tiers, and account assignments for the sales team; drives performance and monitors sales activity and productivity standards.


5.   Prepares summary activity reports detailing account contacts, product, competitive and market information via Goldmine database; maintains and utilizes Goldmine for all client contact and scheduling.


6.   Performs additional duties as assigned.


 


 JOB REQUIREMENTS:


BA/BS required in marketing, communications or business management or equivalent in experience with at least five years experience in booth & sponsorship sales management.  Understands and can sell mutli media platforms, and e-media. Must have proven sales leadership; above quota performance in rigorous and disciplined web sales environment. Must have excellent sales presentation/training skills, proficiency in MS Office and experience in database software. Demonstrated ability to work independently, communicate effectively and possess a high degree of organizational detail & creativity.  In addition, must have strong working knowledge of web practices, sales and marketing tools and technologies and exceptional time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.
