The National Sales Manager primary focus is to drive and increase sales of the Restoration Millwork business through strategy and program execution. Extraordinary support and service will differentiate our brand so that CertainTeed will be the preferred supplier of composite trim products.

This position is best based out of the Midatlantic, New England, or Midwest regions of the country

Responsibilities include identifying, targeting and acquiring new account business nationally and increasing sales and product mix. Position will leverage and maximize sales efforts through CertainTeed Siding Products national, regional and territory managers and Building Solutions teams. The incumbent will develop marketing and sales promotions, training, and support services for sales organization and distributor customers.

Identify, target and obtain new accounts that will add and grow sales of Restoration Millwork PVC (as a product category or to displace an existing PVC or wood trim competitor). Focus will be on 2-Step distribution channel and pull-through customers. This may be in conjunction with "in-place" field sales personnel and Regional Managers/Directors and will include traditional as well as non-traditional SPG accounts and channels.

Develop and implement field training programs to establish value added selling skills in both field sales and customer base specific to this product line. Provide customer support via product knowledge expertise and act as a supplemental contact for major customers.

Establish and monitor industry and customer sales policies including pricing, terms, support programs, shipping policies and customer selection and new products. Recommend changes to policies and services to create or leverage competitive advantage.

Interface with Restoration Millwork Plant Manager regarding customer service and product quality issues and with SPG VP Sales regarding sales programs and related issues for complementary siding, polymer shake, fence, rail and decking product lines.



Identify specific trade shows targeted for PVC trim and moulding. Participate where appropriate and include field sales personnel.

Support Business Manager in exploring new PVC markets (such as exhibit and signage industry) to utilize excess capacity and with general forecasting, budgeting and large project pricing duties as needed.

KNOWLEDGE

BS Degree - a business related field with 7-10 years of field sales experience, with strong preference in the building materials field with in-depth knowledge of practice and procedures. Formal continuing education in development of value-added selling skills. Post graduate work a plus.

Consultative selling and strong communication, presentation, negotiations and time/project management skills are assumed. This person must be self-motivated, highly organized, enthusiastic and skilled in both field sales and communication of ideas and best practices to all levels within an organization. Position must be able to listen, analyze the situation and make an appropriate decision. They must be able to work independently and within a team environment. This position will require approximately 50%travel
