National Sales Manager
PennBarry, a business unit of Johnson Controls, is a leading manufacturer of full service ventilation products for commercial and light industrial applications, including commercial and industrial fans, energy recovery units, make-up air systems and kitchen hoods.

What you will do

  • Lead the development and execution of a sales strategy to profitably grow PennBarry. The National Sales Manager will be responsible for identifying priority local markets to target for growth, conduct account segmentation to prioritize outside and inside sales teams’ priorities and drive sales and account management discipline to exceed sales quotas and gross margin goals.

  • How you will do it

  • Development of a sales strategy for the rep channel for air distribution products through effective territory, account and sales management

  • Lead and coach a team of talented Regional Sales Managers (RSMs)

  • Develop deep trusted advisor relationship with Principals of leading rep firms in North America

  • Lead the development of training and support priorities so rep firms are effective in selling PennBarry products

  • Set pricing by local market collaborating with the product management teams and analyzing market pricing data and competitive landscape

  • Understand PennBarry plant manufacturing operations to maximize plant, brand and customer objectives within the sales and construction environment.

  • Actively participate in the financial objectives of PennBarry brand

What we look for


  1. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Business Management, Engineering or Marketing from an accredited four-year College or University

  2. Ten years or more of successful outside sales experience including three or more years in a sales leadership role in the air distribution industry


  1. Fan industry experience highly preferred

  2. Analytical – able to solve problems using data.

  3. Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.

  4. Written Communication - Writes clearly and informatively; Able to read and interpret written information.

  5. Quality Management - Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
