National Sales Manager, Eastern Sheet Metal

What you will do

Under general direction, leads a Channel sales business by executing account management strategies that facilitate long-term customer relationships with targeted Eastern Sheet Metal customers. Plans, forecasts, manage, and deliver consistent long-term profitable channel growth. Develops and directs the Channel sales force to be the premier supplier of sheet metal HVAC duct products. Responsible for actualizing account management strategies, sales planning, sales pipeline management, salesperson development/training and sales activity consistent with the JCI Sales Management Disciplines. Establishes and maintains long term customer relationships with key and target accounts.

How you will do it

  • Manages the Channel Manufacturers Representatives and Sheet Metal distributors sales teams to ensure channel and account management performance to plan. Ensures the development and maintenance of Account Plans with all key and target accounts using Salesforce.com

  • Responsible for relationship building with key sheet metal contractors and our sales representatives.

  • Manage sales estimating, drafting coordination, and product management.

  • Manage top-line growth of revenue as well as meeting growth objectives around gross margin and segment income by analyzing the market and current business performance. Works closely with factory leadership to optimize customer satisfaction and growth

  • Provides accurate and timely forecasting of sales and the corresponding allocation of sales support resources

  • Practices performance management by setting clear goals, investing personal time in employee development, actively coaching (i.e. monthly one on ones, account reviews, opportunity reviews and regular observed coaching calls) and performing on-time performance reviews. Ensures adherence to Company policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives regarding human resource management.

  • Increases market penetration in Channel business by securing new customers and expanding share of wallet with the existing customer base. Manages qualifications and assessing potential customers and opportunities.

  • Works closely with Ruskin marketing to maximize website and market presence for ESM.

  • Facilitates training and ensures support resources are in place to develop salespersons capable of selling the full scale of product offering.

  • Builds and fosters a team environment within and across channels. Solicits support from and communicates effectively with internal staff.

What we look for


  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  2. Five to eight years of progressive sales, sales management, and/or project management experience in the HVAC industry, with preference for sheet metal and/or spiral duct experience.


  1. Project experience with a commercial contractor is a plus.
