Position Purpose
The National Sales Managers will have responsibility for increasing purchases and profitability. The successful candidate will actively manage eight national representatives that travel across the country and buy textbooks from college book stores.
The position reports directly to the Vice President.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Organize and direct efforts of the National Store Stock Buyers.
· Recruit, hire, train and maintain staff at appropriate levels according to company guidelines and budgets.
· Lead, motivate, and encourage the team to actively develop and improve purchases and profits.
· Establish goals and objectives.
· Monitor daily service performance objectives, reporting and commenting on results and driving corrective actions when necessary.
· Responsible for keeping the National Store Stock Buyers informed and updated on market information, research, and promotions.
· Effectively forecast purchase and manage department expenses within budget.
· Provide VP with weekly purchase reports.
· Ability to travel up to 25% to support training and support of representatives.
· Attend five to ten trade shows per year.
· Perform other duties as needed and directed by the VP.
