Summary Description:             

         The primary role of this position is to assist with the business analysis, development, enhancement, and support of custom and vendor developed trading applications used by clients as we design a more updated .Net Architecture. This person needs to have strong business analyst, and technical development and critical thinking skills. This person will be working closely with IT and business clients on projects related to financial trading activities.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

·         Work closely with business users and other IT team members (located in Houston and abroad) to gather requirements, create detailed documentation, and develop and deliver solutions that automate their daily work as we move to an updated .Net Architecture

·         Design, develop and test and help upgrade applications with new .Net features and application interfaces. Application development is generally with.NET and Transact-SQL (Sybase and SQL Server), with a few database platforms on Oracle PL/SQL

·         Between project phases - provide ongoing application support, business recovery support, and client support and bug fixes

·         Perform troubleshooting analysis and resolution of critical applications and batch processes

·         Coordinate with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues

·         Coordinate and participate in testing for in-house and vendor developed software applications

·         Participate in both small and large projects, reporting progress and escalating issues in a timely manner in order to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met

Skills and Abilities Required:

·         Minimum of 5 years IT experience – MS Technology Stack: - SQL Server 2005/2008, SSIS, BI and SQL Reporting Services, Microsoft Development Platform; Visual Studio 2010/2008/2005, .NET 4.0/3.0/3.5, Windows Workflow Foundation (WWF), Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, Web Services, XML/XSLT, .NET Framework, Silverlight

·         Experience developing.NET applications and creating stored procedures utilizing Transact SQL and/or PL/SQL

·         Experience supporting earlier versions of VB.Net 2.0 and 3.0 applications as we upgrade our applications to 4.x

·         Good business analysis skills

·         Relational database design and construction

·         Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and concentrate on detailed information in a fast-paced demanding work environment, working both individually and as part of a participatory team process

·         Experience with a formalized software development lifecycle process

·         Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact and communicate with clients and individuals at all technical levels is required

·         Structured, disciplined approach to work, and good attention to detail

·         Ability to work in a global, multicultural environment

·         Exceptional troubleshooting and problem solving skills

·         The ability to multi-task on various projects and support items

·         Strong work ethic

Minimum Knowledge:

·         Experience working in the financial services industry is favored, especially trade investment operations

·         Crystal Reports (Business Objects) experience is helpful

·         Familiarity and working knowledge of PORTIA, Bloomberg and Charles River trading system strongly favored
