The Network Engineer III evaluates communication hardware and software, provides technical expertise for design, performance enhancements and configuration of networks and servers. 

           

The engineer directs and implements hardware and software installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance for workstations, servers, and other network peripheral devices. The candidate must have extensive experience supporting Windows and Linux operating systems, Storage Area Network (SAN) or Network Attached Storage (NAS) technologies.

 

Performs multiple system server administration and oversight. Support the installation, integration and testing of complex large-scale computer systems. Advise senior personnel on scheduled maintenance, conversions and cutovers.

 

Recommend, implement and monitor server system activities to ensure secure operation all networks and attached systems

           

This position will require supervision of and oversight of junior staff to ensure quality operation and maintenance of the supported application and productions systems.

           

Provides status reporting to Technical Services management.

 

Work in coordination with and under Sr. Management leadership. 

Minimum of ten years experience is required, of which six years must be specialized. 

           

Ideal candidate must have prior experience of protocol analysis, communication network system design and maintenance. Technical knowledge of bridges, routers, and gateways is required.

           

Extensive experience with Cisco or Juniper communication hardware is required. CCNA, CCDA or other equivalent or higher certification is preferred.

           

For consideration applicant should have past hands-on experience managing Windows 2003/2008 and Linux server environments. Specialized experience of systems management and monitoring tools is preferred.

           

The network administrator will require the ability to work independently or as part of a larger team.

           

Must possess the ability to document work and communicate effectively with management and team.

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related scientific or technical discipline. Work experience or industry certifications demonstrating technical proficiency may be substituted for education requirements.
