Description: 


This position will become the in-house technology expert. Approximately 20% of the time will be spent supporting network administration tasks including desktop support, license management, data backups, and server maintenance. The remaining 80% of the time will be spent developing/supporting new applications, process improvements, data management solutions, and developing a technology plan. This is an incredible opportunity for the highly motivated, highly skilled, and passionate technology professional. The opportunity exists to transform this position from an internal support function to new client consulting services or Business ventures.  Position will report initially to current Information Manager but will be expected to take the lead after becoming familiar with the organization and systems.  


 


Responsibilities:
Network Administrator


·         Pro-actively monitoring and maintaining the IT environment, and reacting to unplanned events as they arise.  Make recommendations for improvements.


·         Administration of production systems in a predominantly Windows environment.


·         Configuration, installation and maintenance of new desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, routers, switches, ensuring correct security and functional requirements are met.


·         Configure and maintain IP phone system.


·         Support users in their day-to-day use of company IT resources, using innovative solutions to minimize down-time and maximize user productivity.


·         Implement corporate backup procedures, ensuring backups are executed and are accurate.


·         Implement corporate system security policies and procedures including rights to all systems and network resources within the Company.


·         Coordinate with outside service providers for installation, repair and maintenance of equipment.


·         Research and develop new solutions and process improvements to ensure prompt and accurate resolution of technical challenges and business issues.


.Net Analyst


·         Design and develop applications that are either web based or distributed applications


·         Collaborate with the team on application architecture design and decision-making


·         Work closely with other team members throughout the lifecycle of the project from design through quality acceptance and production deployment


 


Skills & Abilities:


·         Proficiency with Windows Vista and XP desktops and laptops.


·         Proficiency with Windows Server OS, IIS, AD, Group Policy, and Microsoft Office applications


·         Proficiency with Microsoft Exchange 2003, 2007


·         Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2005, or 2008.


·         Proficiency with SonicWall NSA firewall’s and setup of WAN’s


·         Proficiency with Veritas Backup and Trend Micro Antivirus


·         Strong background in C#, ASP.Net, SQL Server, Visual Studio


·         Proficiency in Object Oriented design and familiar with TDD, Unit Testing


 


Desired Skills


·         Experience in server/application virtualization using Hyper-V.


·         Strong background in C#, ASP.Net, SQL Server, Visual Studio


·         Experience developing web-based GIS software application using ESRI's ArcGIS and/or Google Maps.


Education & Traits


·         Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in the areas of Computer Science, MIS or Software Engineering


·         Must be a self-starter who requires minimal supervision.


·         Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple projects and rapidly changing priorities.


·         Ability to communicate at all levels.


·         Must be creative and comfortable learning and using new technologies


·         Must possess strong client interaction skills and work well within a collaborative team environment


·      Some travel to client facilities may be required


·      Three to five years of relevant experience required
