Description:
Job Purpose:
Maintains network connectivity and performance by performing adds, moves, and changes; repairing existing communications issues; troubleshooting problems; maintaining topology. Maintains workstations by receiving components; installing stations; inventorying modules; providing repair and maintenance services.
Duties:
* Establishes new network topologies by understanding overall site design associated with telecommunications project; installing data, and structured cabling.
* Repairs existing network topologies by troubleshooting, testing, diagnosing the problem; communicating solution; completing repairs..
* Establishes network performance by testing physical layer for continuity;
* Prepares reports by recording work performed;
* Accomplishes field staff results by completing project-related tasks.
* Prepares facility for occupancy by installing work stations.
* Documents inventory by marking and recording work stations, furniture, and computer hardware.
* Complies with codes by adhering to requirements; advising management of needed actions.
* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
* Enhances facilities management and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
* Repairs workstations by logging repair work orders;
